Screw Pile Foundations

for Fabric Covered Buildings

Helical anchoring systems or screw piles can be less expensive than traditional foundations, and for many projects, they are an excellent option. They are 100% temporary.

Helical anchors drill directly into the ground, eliminating the need for poured concrete, posts, blocks or piers. This feature reduces the amount of excavation and site work.  It can be advantageous in providing a cost-effective project utilizing fabric buildings.

These anchors make the fabric building easy to relocate, but also provide the strength and dependability of a permanent foundation. They can be left in the ground as long as needed. Helical anchors can usually be relocated with fabric buildings. And as an environmentally friendly option, they can be removed without disturbing or harming the surrounding environment and moved along with fabric buildings.

The Helical Anchoring Systems are a great option for agricultural or commercial installations. Helical anchors are driven into the soil at each truss footing using hydraulic equipment capable of measuring the KPI resistance. Sizes of the piles will be determined by the size of the fabric building and soil conditions. Helical anchors require some hydraulic equipment but can be installed with minimal manpower at a reasonable cost. This foundation is suitable for medium to large fabric structures.

DUCKBILL® anchors essentially work like a toggle bolt in soil. The duckbills are driven into the ground providing a safe and environmentally sensitive installation. An upward pull on the anchor tendon rotates the duckbill into a perpendicular “anchor lock” position. Typically used as temporary foundations, duckbill anchor systems offer effective, lightweight and economical anchoring solutions. Duckbill anchor foundations can be installed with minimal resources and manpower with a low overall cost. This foundation is suitable for smaller fabric structures.

Advantages –

  • Can be one of the less expensive foundations for fabric buildings.

  • There is no need to pour concrete, or waiting for the concrete to cure.

  • These types of anchoring systems are 100% temporary.

  • Perfect for unstable soil conditions.

  • Easy to relocate.
