Milestones Provides Fabric Covered Building for
Bio
Solids Composting
At one time, Soil Key was one of the leading
composting operations
of organic waste in Western Washington. They relied
heavily on the quality of their buildings to support the
efficiency of their composting operation. That is
why they chose Milestones Building & Design to help them
design and implement a fabric structure facility.
Their fabric covered, steel truss buildings are built to
withstand harsh and corrosive environments, and will
require minimal maintenance over the years. The
fabric structure covers allow enough natural light to
pass through them that workers feel safe and comfortable
without the added expense of interior lighting.
The clearspan design of these fabric buildings
accommodates large composting piles and allows for
heavy equipment to move around easily inside the
buildings. These are all attributes that set the
fabric covered buildings apart from their steel
counterparts, and explains why Soil Key chose Milestones
Building & Design.
